Established by executives from the Venezuelan Oil & Gas Industry in 1984, under the name “Venezuelan Gas Processors Association” (AVPG), as a private, non-profit organization, initially supported by Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA).
Since its beginnings the AVPG has maintained institutional links with the international "Gas Processors Association" (GPA), based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, U.S.A., as its "Venezuelan Chapter. "
- Continue to consolidate our position as the official, leading voice for the Venezuelan natural gas Industry.
- Promote the safety and environmental protection aspects in all activities (upstream, midstream and downstream) along the value chain of natural gas and its products.
- Continue promoting the opening and growth of Venezuela´s natural gas business with private sector companies as the leading participants, investors and operators.
- Continue to lobby for the continuous positive evolution of legal, regulatory and fiscal frameworks towards a more competitive market for the ultimate benefit of the Venezuelan society.
- Strengthen our cooperation efforts with GPA and its international chapters, with the “Gas Processors Suppliers Association" (GPSA), and with other regional and international natural gas associations.

The Mission of the AVPG is to promote research and the interchange of information about the safe industrial utilization of the natural gas and its products, and to support sound business opportunities in all matters pertaining to the natural gas industry in Venezuela.
